REQUIREMENTS FOR SENIOR VERIFICATION ENGINEER

  • Familiarity with the hardware product lifecycle, alongside notable experience in a similar role testing hardware products (Telephony/VOIP communication or IoT focused experience would be preferable).
  • Experience with automated hardware testing frameworks and scripting languages (Python/Javascript), alongside proficiency in hardware verification methodologies and tools.
  • Working proficiency with Linux and an ability to use SSH for accessing and troubleshooting servers.
  • Experience with audio software/hardware and the surrounding tooling.
  • Hands-on electronics hardware experience alongside knowledge of relevant hardware/software industry standards.
  • Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA)/Certified TestStand Developer (CTD).
  • A strong interest in learning or furthering programming and automation skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO, FCC, CE and RoHS and experience ensuring compliance.
  • Experience reading and interpreting hardware schematics, configuration files and logs.

"NICE TO HAVE” SKILLS AS SENIOR VERIFICATION ENGINEER

  • ISEB or ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level certification.
  • Experience in the setup and development of QA labs and associated knowledge of the necessary tools/infrastructure for comprehensive hardware testing.
  • The ability to speak and read Simplified Chinese (Mandarin - technical manufacturing conversations) is highly advantageous but not critical.
  • Experience with or an interest in developing and implementing robotic test automation solutions.
  • Familiarity with Jira and TestRail.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Senior Verification Engineer at VoCoVo, you will report to the QA Manager and collaborate closely with the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and Customer Service (CS) teams. You will be responsible for testing VoCoVo’s hardware products, ensuring the highest quality of our interactive audio products for a global customer base and performing manual testing as we aim to move into robotic automation of our retail products.
Please note, to apply for this position you must be based in the UK and have the legal right to work in the UK. This position is predominantly based from our office in Shipton-Under-Wychwood with circa 3 days per week onsite.

RESPONSIBILITIES AS SENIOR VERIFICATION ENGINEER

  • Designing and executing tests for hardware products whilst also testing software on hardware platforms.
  • Conducting compatibility testing of firmware configurations across the product range.
  • Working in close collaboration with RMA, CS and our wider QA team on a daily basis.
  • Conducting testing onsite from our lab in Oxfordshire (Shipton-Under-Wychwood), whilst also maintaining and expanding the QA lab to the highest of standards.
  • To perform failure analysis, regression testing and reporting using TestRail and Jira.
  • Lead the creation of accurate test estimations and ensure effective communication with the QA manager.
  • Acting in a proactive manner for the identification and resolution of issues before customer exposure, further leading to the reduction of customer reporting issues due to thorough testing and test authoring of detected issues.
  • Identification of opportunities for process improvements coupled with a strong bias for action.
