Description:
CLINICAL LEAD SMO HOSPITAL IN HOME –0.5 FTE
Health New Zealand Counties Manukau is a dynamic and progressive organisation at the forefront of innovative health delivery, working with some of New Zealand’s most culturally diverse populations.
Hospital in the Home (HiTH) has been a key development in the management of patients as an acute hospital equivalent alternative, as part of the Acute Flow Project, so has significant organisational & regional importance.
Between 1st July 2023 – 3rd April 2024 we have had 1760 admissions into HiTH saving 9874 inpatient bed days. On average we manage 36-40 patients daily using a variety of modalities including home visiting, telehealth, and virtual monitoring.

Responsibilities:
This role, working closely with Māori health leadership drives active partnerships necessary to achieve Māori health equity
This role is a 0.5FTE. The appointee is expected to work clinically as appropriate to their discipline with an allocation of the FTE to the Leadership and development of the service. This position reports to the Clinical Director of Medicine.
Applicants must hold a Specialist qualification recognized by RANZCOG or equivalent/General Qualifications recognized by NZMC orMB.Ch.B. (or approved similar degree) with FRACP, or equivalent, in general medicine from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and need to be practicing in the specialty
