POSITION SUMMARY

The Social Media Assistant reports to the IECMH Program Director and meets regularly with program staff, consultants and
the Community Relations Supervisor. The staff will work on creating a social media campaign to create more public
awareness and to enhance and promote messaging to the general public about early childhood developmental, mental
health and outreach through several modalities. The staff must be flexible, creative, forward-thinking, have excellent time
management, computer, communication, and writing skills. The staff must be versed in social media platforms and
computer programs applicable to job responsibilities. The staff must be able to present to the community at large, handle
a large workload, work cohesively with their supervisor, staff, adhere to deadlines and reviews, and to follow the
procedures and protocols of the Agency and SAMHSA. The staff will work in support of developing and promoting the
social media campaign, the Youth Child Wellness Council (YCWC) and other relevant projects as necessary. Attendance at
Agency meetings and supervision is required. Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • BA Degree
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) with excellent oral and written communication skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Must have great organizational skills, be detail oriented and a self-starter with the ability to multitask.
  • The ideal candidate should be personable and have experience in the social services field with familiarity in the

mental health field.

  • Candidate needs to be motivated and able to communicate effectively, and efficiently, both verbally and in written

format.

  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access), CANVA, Adobe PDF, Google Drive

(Sheets, Docs, etc.), Internet, calendar/scheduling tools, Survey Monkey and other standard equipment.

  • Must clear HIPAA certification, Department of Justice, and TB clearance.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle/access to transportation, valid California driver’s license, and be responsible for all

liability on vehicle.

  • Must be able to manage the Agency’s electronic recordkeeping system.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of social media navigation required.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of social media campaigns to promote and create more awareness of early childhood development,

  • Works with Community Relations and Development team to ensure cohesive ideas and planning methodologies.
  • Writes and is responsible for articles, reports, information, and social media posts.
  • Tracks success stories.
  • Develops, designs and maintains an early childhood platform via social media and agency’s website.

events.

  • Ability to present to the community and large, other organizations and professionals.
  • Assists with branding and promotional items virtually and in agency literature.
  • Research ideas and current trends in social media.
  • Collaborates and consults with other professionals, organizations, and staff.
  • Works with IECMH Project Director, other staff and entities on promotion of projects, conferences, and trainings.
  • Manages time efficiently and meets deadlines.
  • This position is required to comply with HIPAA laws and guidelines in accordance to agency, DMH, DCFS &

SAMHSA policies.

  • Attend supervision, trainings and meetings as required.
  • Must be culturally competent and sensitive.
  • Presents to staff, professionals, and the public on topics related to job duties.
  • Staff must believe in and act in accordance with Agency’s and the program’s mission statements.
  • In accordance with our “team” philosophy, the person filling this position may occasionally be required to carry

out other duties.

  • Assist with other tasks in addition to the duties listed on this job description.
  • Attendance at outreach events, functions and trainings required.
  • Travel, weekends and after hours may be required.
