We are looking for a Software Architect to join in our mission to create striking performance – the 9LV Combat System. To make this engine going we cover all development, from bottom to top, meaning platform solutions all the way to user applications.
Your role
In this role, you will be handling SW architecture related tasks related to our global product portfolio. You will be part of the local team in Finland with a broad focus on different system and software features. In the role you will also collaborate globally with colleagues in the 9LV product architecture area.

The main tasks include the following:

• Designing and coordinating the overall SW architecture, aligned with the system architecture
• Maintaining the product vision together with architecture colleagues in other countries
• Defining internal and external interfaces and APIs
• Supporting the local SW teams in Finland with architectural work
• Sharing architectural best practices and ways of working

This role will require occasional travelling (mainly short visits to Sweden).
Your profile
Our future Software Architect should possess a combination of following technical and soft skills:
1. Strong programming knowledge: Understanding various programming languages and their capabilities. In particular the main programming languages of 9LV (Java, Ada, C/C++ and Python) are valuable.
2. Design expertise: Knowledge of software design patterns and principles to create scalable and maintainable systems. In particular knowledge of software product line architectures, cyber-physical systems and micro service architectures are valuable. Experience in both formal and agile design work flows are valuable.
3. Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Good writing skills as well as presentation skills are valuable. Please note that English is the common language for 9LV development.
4. Problem-solving: Identify and address challenges within the software implementation and design as well as software development process.
5. Leadership: Capability to mentor and guide team members. Good teacher.
