Verily’s core strategy to advance precision health is by closing the gap between research and care. Our team is responsible for delivering warm, personalized experiences for patients/participants and an adaptive, streamlined experience bridging care delivery and clinical research worlds. Specifically, the team will be responsible for developing an innovative and patient friendly eConsent product to serve Clinical Trials, Registries and Care programs

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and expand a team of 8-12 software engineers. Own technical strategy, planning, execution, resourcing and success of complex mission critical projects.
  • Drive all technical aspects of the development including requirements definition, design, implementation, unit testing, and integration.
  • Oversee detailed designs, implementation, and test plan reviews to ensure high quality deliverables.
  • Define engineering productivity success metrics for the team and create processes to continuously improve product delivery.
  • Support career development for your team through structured and informal feedback, calibrations and mentorship.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on technical leadership and/or people management experience of a team of at least 5 software engineers.
  • Experience with mobile application delivery and/or medical device delivery
  • 9+ years of hands-on programming experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in system-level software development with 5 years of hands-on technical leadership and/or people management experience of a team of 8-10 SWEs.
  • Large scale systems design experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in problem solving and prioritization in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in eConsent product in context of clinical trials is highly desirable

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000 - $247,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
