EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:

  • University degree in Engineering or Science; or Relevant Work Experience
  • PMP or Equivalent Certification (preferred)
  • P.Eng is an asset

KEY ATTRIBUTES (EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE):

  • 5+ years of experience working in a regulated industry (Medical, Automotive, Aerospace, etc.)
  • Experience leading complex software projects
  • Knowledge of machine learning/AI fundamentals
  • Experience managing engineering projects in a regulated environment; medical device development experience is an asset
  • Proven knowledge of developing and manufacturing electromechanical devices
  • Solid understanding of the electronic hardware, mechanical and software development lifecycles
  • Experience transferring designs from engineering to manufacturing
  • Experience operating in a quality environment such as GLP, GMP, GCP, ISO13485 or equivalent
  • Able to work well in teams and independently
  • Detail-orientated; highly motivated; patient and diligent
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
  • Clear, concise, and thorough documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Software Project Manager is responsible for planning and managing compliant cross functional projects within the PMI Organization.
Additionally, the Software Project Manager is responsible for establishing and managing project scope, schedule, and budget all while ensuring compliance with both PMI QMS and applicable industry standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure project adherence to Program Management Organization & Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Lead cross functional projects from inception to manufacturing transfer through to stable production post launch
  • Manage 3rd party project stakeholders/vendors, including weekly touch points with academic collaborators
  • Managing grant funding for projects, including time sheets and other requirements
  • Managing SW feature triage prioritization and development according to internal development processes to ensure on target release of new versions and features
  • Document and actively manage project requirements
  • Lead project meetings and record meeting minutes
  • Communicate project status to management
  • Act as a liaison between technical team and project stakeholders by understanding and communicating technical-business trade-offs
  • Help drive key strategic decisions
  • Manage and proactively escalate project issues and risks
  • Assist with the development and improvement of organizational best practices, identify & implement tools for project execution.
  • Actively manage external parties as required
  • Complete & ensure accurate project reports are completed
  • Aid in training of new personnel
  • Contribute to a positive work culture, and foster a high-performance team environment
  • Travel as required to support business activities
  • Other duties as assigned
