We are looking for a Sourcing Director for Sandvik Lahti

We are now looking for forward looking Sourcing Director to lead the Attachment Tools division’s sourcing function and transformation. You will be part of the division management team and located in Lahti, Finland. Hybrid work is possible.
Your responsibilities
As Sourcing Director you will be responsible for creating the division end to end sourcing strategy and driving the execution of the plans with the objective to drive the competitiveness of the product offering in the global markets.. The successful candidate will be able to develop holistic and long term sourcing vision and bring it down to hands on tactics and actions to support division growth journey. You will be part of the division management team and core contributor setting and implementing strategy and growth ambition for the division. You will evaluate our sourcing activities through relevant analysis and set needed actions for category and supplier management, forecast and planning, quality, sustainability, competence development and process development as well as new product development projects.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the creation of sourcing strategy and tactics aligned with division strategy
  • Actively lead, maintain and monitor sourcing projects roadmap. Develop and lead sourcing and buying processes and activities.
  • Follow up and utilize new possibilities in supplier market, build transformation scenarios for example regarding make/buy decisions for selected product categories.
  • Develop partnership, quality, cost, flexibility, sustainability and performance of suppliers. Negotiate Frame Agreements with suppliers together with legal team
  • Active cooperation with division stakeholders like R&D, operations and product line management and collaborate within other stakeholders and peers at Sandvik
  • Lead and coach own sourcing team, currently 3-4 professionals.
  • Represent sourcing in division key strategic project (e.g. M&A)

Your skills and qualifications

You are creating value to your organization by your professional, energetic, hand on and collaborative approach. You can build strong professional relationships with relevant stakeholders and suppliers at all levels and you have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • You have preferably an university degree in business, technology or other related area, or other relevant educational degree.
  • Already min. 10 years’ experience in similar responsibilities in industrial sector in global business environment.
  • To be successful in the position you have holistic understanding of sourcing and supply chain management and experience of developing ways of working in global business.
  • Proven track record of sourcing strategy work and transformation projects with successful change management
  • This job requires willingness to travel and fluent Finnish and English language skills.
