Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is recruiting to fill a Senior Accountant role for a growing manufacturing company headquartered in Reno. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting experience, ideally exposure to audit in a public accounting firm setting or similar. SAP or manufacturing/cost accounting experience is a plus as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Actively engaged in day-to-day accounting transactions and entries.
• Complete monthly accounting close, including journal entry preparation and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper costing and inventory management.
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
• Assist with the preparation of Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
• Maintain and update fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial data, footnotes, and supporting documentation for reporting purposes.
• Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards, participate in technical accounting research, and support the external audit process.
• Ensure compliance with state and local taxes and filings.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:

A BS Degree in accounting, and ideally a CPA
3 + experience in GL accounting, month-end close, and reporting
Experience using ERP systems.
Ability to apply experience and critical thinking to solve finance and accounting-related issues.
Ability to meet critical deadlines
Excellent at time management and multitasking
Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Strong ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, operations professionals and teammates.
