Basic Qualifications :
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 10+ years of job-related experience, or a Master’s degree plus 8 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position:

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a systems engineer for MUOS, you’ll work as a member of a cross functional team responsible for system level support for a live communication system. We provide warfighters with a familiar cellular phone-like service, allowing forces on the ground to communicate directly with others at higher levels of quality and much greater capacity than available through the current system.
We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: experience providing support for telecom systems, 3G/5G communication systems, Radio Access Network (RAN) and Core networking for telecom, earth terminal/satellite tracking, problem intake, tracking, and reporting.

SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate incident intake, troubleshooting, resolution, repair of customer reported issues
  • Create, manage, lead review of, and complete FRBs (Failure Review Board)
  • Lead creation and delivery of emergency system patches and updates
  • Generate as needed historical data reports
  • Generate weekly status reports
  • Review customer documentation and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with customers as well as MUOS leadership
