Staff Accountant ~ Washington, D.C. hybrid
$75k, plus bonus, great benefits, 401(k), growing company!

My client is a mission-based nonprofit located in the Washington, D.C. with a newly created role for a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and will be in a rotational training program for all operational accounting duties, including payables, receivables, payroll, account reconciliations, and general accounting. The Junior Accountant must have a BA/BA in Accounting, Business, or Finance. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Processing accounts receivables payments, including posting journal entries
  • Accurately reviews, verifies, codes, and processes invoices, requisitions, and reimbursement requests into accounting software
  • Investigates and resolves any payment and accounting issues as they arise
  • Assist with credit card and bank reconciliations by compiling all pertinent documentations (receipts, contracts, payment confirmations, etc.)
  • Develop and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and accounting information for management

Assist Director of Finance with ad hoc projects as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

BS/BA degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field of study
1 + years experience in nonprofit accounting
Experience in the Financial Services is a plus
Proficient in MS Excel
Stable job history
