Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The engineering Stress Analysis Supervisor plans, organizes, controls, and leads the technical activities and resources of the stress analysis engineering group supporting a variety of military aircraft fleets including P-3 Orion, CC-130H Hercules, CH149 Cormorant (EH-101) and others.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision, leadership and technical guidance to engineering staff.
  • Conduct analysis of aircraft structural modifications and non-standard repairs to ensure all strength requirements are met.
  • Teach and guide more junior engineers in good practices for stress analysis of aircraft structure.
  • Apply and promote good Project Management practices.
  • Ensure technical work tasks conducted under in-service support contracts are completed on time and within budget.
  • Provide technical investigations, services and other engineering support activities as required and provide technical advice to the customer.
  • Lead / coordinate the development of technical tools required to support the program.
  • Prepare Engineering reports, plans, and studies.
  • Review staff reports for accuracy, grammar and technical content.
  • Liaise and coordinate with external customers and other departments within IMP.
  • Represent IMP at technical meetings with the customer, aircraft manufacturers, or other outside agencies.
  • Participate in staff recruitment, staff development and performance evaluations.
  • Plan staff workload and assess staffing requirements.
  • Monitor workload and assign manpower as required.
  • Prepare cost estimates and statements of work and support the preparation of proposals.
  • Evaluate and propose potential new business development opportunities.
  • May be required to periodically assume some or all the duties of the Manager Aeronautical Support Engineering.
  • Other duties as assigned.
