Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The engineering Stress Analysis Supervisor plans, organizes, controls, and leads the technical activities and resources of the stress analysis engineering group supporting a variety of military aircraft fleets including P-3 Orion, CC-130H Hercules, CH149 Cormorant (EH-101) and others.
Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision, leadership and technical guidance to engineering staff.
- Conduct analysis of aircraft structural modifications and non-standard repairs to ensure all strength requirements are met.
- Teach and guide more junior engineers in good practices for stress analysis of aircraft structure.
- Apply and promote good Project Management practices.
- Ensure technical work tasks conducted under in-service support contracts are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide technical investigations, services and other engineering support activities as required and provide technical advice to the customer.
- Lead / coordinate the development of technical tools required to support the program.
- Prepare Engineering reports, plans, and studies.
- Review staff reports for accuracy, grammar and technical content.
- Liaise and coordinate with external customers and other departments within IMP.
- Represent IMP at technical meetings with the customer, aircraft manufacturers, or other outside agencies.
- Participate in staff recruitment, staff development and performance evaluations.
- Plan staff workload and assess staffing requirements.
- Monitor workload and assign manpower as required.
- Prepare cost estimates and statements of work and support the preparation of proposals.
- Evaluate and propose potential new business development opportunities.
- May be required to periodically assume some or all the duties of the Manager Aeronautical Support Engineering.
- Other duties as assigned.
