ABOUT US:

System Safety and Reliability within the UK works predominantly on the Landing Gear and Fuel systems and supports aircraft level Systems, Manufacturing and Structures Engineering teams. Our team work on all Aircraft and projects throughout the development lifecycle; starting with R&T projects (such as ZEROe and the next generation of Aircraft), to Flight Test campaigns (for novel technologies and new programmes), through to Entry Into Service and a key contributor to supporting the Continued Airworthiness of the full Airbus Aircraft fleet.

We cover 4 keys areas of work which includes:

  • Functional Safety - which encompasses System Safety Assessment, analysing the Aircraft Systems to identify Failure Modes and assist the Design Office to ensure compliance;
  • Continued Airworthiness - We provide Safety Assessments for in-service occurrences on all Airbus Commercial Aircrafts for the Fuel & Inerting and Landing Gear Systems;

  • Zonal Safety Analysis (ZSA) - We inspect new designs and modifications both digitally and physically to ensure compliance to Design and Safety Requirements.

These tasks involve a broad knowledge of system architectures, behaviours and a good understanding of system installation and you will be supported to learn these technical and safety specifics. We are looking for a good systems engineering mindset, a keenness to learn and the willingness to ask questions to aid your development. This will ensure you make the most of this unique and diverse opportunity.
Moreover, our team is a transnational team where there are around 70+ safety engineers which are based in five separate locations around Europe and accountable for the safety activities (functional and physical) for all Airbus aircraft systems.
