Nasittuq has a long history with our roots extending back to 1994, where our founding partners, Pan Arctic Inuit Logistics Corporation (PAIL) and ATCO Frontec (Frontec) formed a joint venture that went on to win a Government of Canada contract to operate and maintain the North Warning System (NWS). Nunasi Corporation holds 51% voting rights and ATCO Frontec holds 49% voting rights, with a 51% equity interest held by PAIL and a 49% equity interest held by ATCO Frontec.

DESCRIPTION:

As part of its NORAD Modernization strategy the Government of Canada intends to procure a Polar-Over-The-Horizon Radar which will be installed in the Northwest Territories. ATCO Frontec is seeking a Systems Engineering Lead, contingent on ATCO winning this proposed project.
The Systems Engineering Lead will be responsible for all technical aspects related to the planning and execution of the work required to design, build, test and install the Polar Over-The- Horizon Radar. This position is hybrid; work can be completed both remotely and onsite.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of engineering experience in the field of radiofrequency system engineering.
  • Undergraduate degree in a program specializing in the engineering, physics, science, or mathematics field.
  • Minimum of (6) years of system engineering experience within the past 10 years in radiofrequency transmission and/or reception is preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of scientific or engineering experience within the past ten (10) years in the integration and development of radiofrequency transmission and/or reception platforms is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a federal government security clearance at the Secret level.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation, delivery and implementation of a Systems Engineering Plan.
  • Lead all design reviews with the client including the initial, preliminary and critical design reviews.
  • Attend Project Review Meetings (PRM) and provide a monthly technical update to the client.
  • Lead the preparation and maintenance of key documents such as the System Design Document (SDD, Traceability Matrix, Systems Power Requirements and Hierarchal Equipment List.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of drawings and reports such as technical specifications, data sheets, technical drawings and site installation.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of all testing procedures (Factory Acceptance Testing, Local Field Test, Site Acceptance Test).
  • Support the system installation on site.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of required support documentation such as Operation Procedure Manuals, System User Manuals and Spare Parts.
  • Ensure all project operations meet and comply with laws, regulations, health and safety legislation, regulations and corporate policies.
