POSITION: EC Hub Teacher (1.0 FTE) - Grades 7/8/9
REPORTS TO: EC Learning Hub Director & ACA@Home Principal
What is an EC Hub Teacher?
The Teacher at the Experience Church’s Learning Hub, in partnership with Airdrie Christian Academy, is a vital role designed to integrate experienced teaching within a faith-based educational framework. This role requires a balance of strong academic instruction integrated with spiritual formation, aligning with Alberta Education standards and a biblically-based perspective. At the EC Learning Hub teachers are passionate about a place where students are not just educated but transformed.
Teaching and Curriculum Delivery: Teachers are responsible for planning, implementing, and delivering our curriculum that aligns with Alberta Education standards that are infused with a biblically-based perspective. Our educators are expected to operate within a shared-grade classroom setting, making learning accessible and engaging for all students. Teachers are expected to embody and promote the biblical values that form the foundation of our educational philosophy.
Community and Collaboration: In collaboration with the Learning Hub Director and educational team, you will work to ensure a supportive, structured, and spiritually enriching learning environment. This role is pivotal in linking educational objectives with day-to-day teaching activities and in fostering a community where biblical principles guide learning and interaction.

Responsibilities (What you’ll do)
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned instruction to students in shared-grade classrooms.
Assess and report on student achievement and progress.
Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
Responsible for the setup, teardown, and daily management of a portable classroom environment.
Responsible for maintaining clear communication with parents for all student-related progress, information and behavioural concerns.
Effectively managing Hub Helpers (parent volunteers) in the classroom.
Overseeing and utilizing the Teacher Assistant assigned to their classroom.
Qualifications (What you know)
Education Degree, with preference given to candidates with at least 5 years of teaching experience.
Valid Alberta Teachers Certificate (interim or permanent).
Exceptional communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to organize effectively, meet deadlines, and handle multiple concurrent tasks.
