Description:

Your Role

  • Define technical strategies, architecture, and roadmaps for projects and standardized tooling considering scalability, maintainability, and performance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (data owner, product owner, project manager, KGP stream leads and members, etc.) to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Oversees the design, development, and maintenance of complex data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, quality, and security
  • Provide technical direction and leadership to a team of data engineers
  • Work closely with the product owner, senior data engineer and project manager to ensure timely delivery of features and releases
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, perform code reviews, and enforce coding standards and best practices
  • Identify potential risks, bottlenecks, and technical challenges and find solutions to mitigate them
  • Lead technical research, proof of concepts (POC), and prototyping to assess new tools or solutions
  • Leading a team (3-5) of Data Engineers of different levels in different locations

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a senior data engineer or technical lead, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality software products, including working with large-scale data processing and management systems
  • At least 1 year experience leading a team technically
  • Strong background in system architecture, software design patterns, and software engineering best practices
  • Strong experience Cloud Computing and with Python, Databricks, SQL, Pyspark as well as DevOps implementation (Azure Devops, Jenkins)
  • Experience in design and implementation of complex data pipelines by following and ensuring industry standards and best practices
  • Extensive experience in clean, maintainable, and efficient code development
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Fluent English is a must, German language skills are welcome
