Your role and responsibilities
We are now looking for a new Testing Engineer to join our team at ABB Oy, IEC LV Motors in Vaasa. In this role you will be able to start with a clear learning path from documentation, creating test reports and certifications with later possibilities to grow towards organizing prototype and factory acceptance tests, improving testing practices and calculation tools. You will join a close team of 3 experts working in the same area with additional colleagues handling the practical testing in the department. As a team you will also collaborate with external stakeholders and present the lab operations to visitors on a monthly basis.
The work model for the role is: #LI-hybrid.
This position reports to IEC LV Motors Test Floor Manager.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Creating documentation and writing up Marine certifications
  • Analyzing test results and generating test reports
  • Providing technical support for production in testing-related matters
  • Assisting project management during final factory acceptance tests (FATs) often witnessed by customers from all around the world
  • Supporting the design of testing arrangements according to specified workflows and in accordance with processes and safety guidelines
  • Contributing to clearing possible technical issues in co-operation with other functions
  • Later, providing final approval for manufactured low voltage motors and generators

Qualifications for the role:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree from a technical field
  • Studies from Power Engineering or Electrical Engineering are seen as an advantage
  • Few years of experience and basic knowledge in the theory of electrical machines
  • Good communication and documentation skills to support stakeholder collaboration
  • A solution-focused approach and ability to handle overlapping assignments and manage your time under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in a flexible yet precise manner
  • Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken
