Summary
Assists the paralegals and/or attorneys by maintaining and organizing files, preparing documents, updating, and maintaining databases, obtaining information for internal and external sources, and performing other administrative tasks.
Location
This position is located in our New York office and offers a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Organize documents for attorney review.
- Research public records using internal and public websites.
- Assists with preparing binders, makes copies, enters data, and maintains files.
- Performs database research and data entry.
- Assists with closings.
- Obtains documents and other information from governmental agencies or public agencies.
- Obtains information from accounting, timekeeping and attorneys for audit letter responses.
- Assists paralegals and attorneys with mailings and filings.
- Other duties.
Desired Skills
Demonstrated basic level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and database experience. Office experience in a law firm environment supporting paralegals and/or attorneys preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required to interact with paralegals, attorneys and clients on a regular basis. Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills necessary to manage volumes of documents, binders, letter, charts, etc. Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s Degree
Certifications
Paralegal certificate preferred.
Minimum Years of Experience
- 1 year demonstrated success working in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $29.98 - $38.23 per hour depending on the candidate’s geographic market location. Non-exempt positions will be paid on an hourly basis and paid overtime in accordance with applicable laws.
The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
