Description:
We are seeking an experienced Transport Operations Supervisor to join the team at the VIC Depot based in Altona.
The Transport Operations Supervisors position is to ensure a safe and cost-effective operation, that ensures both Niche’s Customers and Teams Members can be at their best every day!

EXPERIENCE:
- Min 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Background in express freight preferable
- Forklift License (Desirable)
- Competence with Microsoft Programs
- Strong written, verbal communication and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge & Experience with CoR regulations and Compliance relating to the transport industry.
- Must have a good working knowledge of express transport operations.
- Must have a good working knowledge of FMCG transport operations.
- Resilience, passion, and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong focus on safety and compliance.
- Motivated self-starter that can work autonomously with attention to detail
- A high level of motivation and energy with a strong focus on achieving outstanding customer experience results.

Responsibilities:
- Supervising transport & logistics function including load maximisation and time management of depot staff.
- Daily management of the business to achieve planned/budgeted KPIs, cost outcomes, safety measures, and service levels.
- Ensuring the efficient, safe, and secure loading, unloading, movement and packing of freight.
- Lead and mentor direct reports, creating a customer first culture, that delivers great results.
- Working alongside the Depot Manager, Truck Drivers and Operations Support areas and to ensure the operation of the shift runs according to plan.
- Effectively communicate with team members and key stakeholders
- Performing quality checks on materials/stock and identify and report damages, shortages, or quality deficiencies.
- Ensure accurate loading documentation is completed.
- Inspecting machinery including forklift and other control equipment to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance in accordance with the sites WHS practices.
- Keeping updated records of inventory and activity logs
- Continuous improvement of systems and processes
