Description:

For neuroloop® we are currently looking for a Usability / Human Factors Engineer (f/m/d) with UX|UI Design affinity.
neuroloop® is a subsidiary of Aesculap AG, which was founded as a spin-off of the University of Freiburg and the Freiburg University Hospital. Based in Freiburg, we are developing a plat-form for the stimulation of the vagus nerve for the treatment of chronic diseases in connection with autonomous body functions. The core of our platform is a multichannel cuff electrode based on thin-film technology that allows us to selectively stimulate specific fibers in the nerve. Our first product, the baroloop® stimulator, is specifically designed for the treatment of high blood pressure. Our main focus is to provide excellent clinical effectiveness while minimizing risks and side effects for the patient and a simple and safe use for the caregiver.

Responsibilities:

  • You assess and validate complex medical device systems for safety and performance from a user perspective
  • You create and test end to end experiences and interfaces for innovative digital products from early research until product launch
  • You develop multi modal cross-device screen flows, interactive prototypes and implementation ready interface designs under the Human Centered Design
  • You support our testing team in execution of Verification and Validation testing
  • You plan, execute and document formative and summative usability evaluations of user interfaces (hardware and software)
  • You develop all necessary usability documents for the approval of medical devices according to IEC 62366-1 or the FDA HFE Guidance
  • You analyze study data, usability evaluations and recommend optimizations of medical device design and its implementation of the usability-related risk analysis according to IEC 62366-1 and ISO 14971
  • You collaborate with clinical advisors, healthcare professionals, risk managers, quality managers, UX|UI designers, UX researcher and Development Engineers
