As our Vehicle Logistics Co-ordinator, you will provide end to end management for our vehicle delivery requirements. You will support, promote, and facilitate maximum communication levels between our dealer network, Daimler Truck colleagues, bodybuilders, customers and 3PL partners.

More about the role

  • You will manage the chassis movements to ensure deliveries to destination within the agreed time windows using agreed methods of transportation and provide up to date delivery progress information to key internal colleagues, to facilitate accurate internal reporting.
  • You will manage unplanned events, to find a mutually acceptable resolution in an acceptable timeframe, using all available resources, and to update Key Stakeholders accordingly.
  • You will proactively engage with our 3PL partners, Dealer Network, Internal colleagues, Bodybuilders and Customers to make our Vehicle Logistics Team a flagship operation.
  • Liaise with DTAG central and UK colleagues on planned shipping movements and port activity, to ensure receipt of the most up to date information.
  • Manage the damage claim process, working with key stakeholders to provide an efficient and seamless resolution to issues that occur. You will provide first level support to the dealer network for all vehicle logistics queries.
  • Following the agreed framework, you will work with your manager to compile daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reports for DTUK management on our 3PL partners performance, and to additionally hold review meetings with these partners.
  • Collaborate with our 3PL partner to resolve issues and prevent reoccurrence, facilitate all relevant contact from the dealer network and escalate high level queries to Daimler Truck UK management.
  • You will proactively engage with the dealer network to encourage 360-degree feedback on our 3PL partners performance and compile reports on dealer queries identifying trends and suggest ideas for resolution and improvement.

About you

  • Previous experience of supply chain management
  • An understanding of Service Level Agreements and operational KPI’s within a fast-moving logistics environment
  • Strong reporting skills, and the ability to create new reports to highlight relevant issues to a high degree of accuracy
  • A pro-active approach to rapidly changing situations, whilst working to tight deadlines
  • MS Office to intermediate level (preferred)
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels and in all situations
