BW Epic Kosan owns and operates a fleet of 62 modern and high quality fully pressurised, semi-refrigerated and ethylene capable gas carriers providing seaborne services for the transportation of liquified petroleum gas (LPG), petrochemicals and other speciality gases. We are headquartered in Singapore, with offices in Copenhagen, Manila and Tokyo. Our vessels serve as a crucial link in the international gas supply chains of leading oil majors and commodity trading houses throughout Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, West Africa and the Americas. We employ approximately 2000 seafarers and a multi-national team of 200 shore-based staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Class 1 COC (Master Mariner)
Incident Investigation training
Internal Auditor’s course
Work Experience:
Experience of 1 year or more as a Marine Manager or Ship Manager or similar with 5 plus years in the Marine industry.
Alternative
Minimum 1 years’ experience as a Master and 10 plus years at Sea.
Key Competencies:
Thorough Knowledge of Safety requirement in Oil & Gas Industry.
Leadership quality.
Risk Management ability.
Language(S)/Level
English/ Proficient in oral and written skills.
IT Skills:
Good computer skills, including knowledge of Ms Office.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for maintaining and implementing the vetting standards on board fleet vessels with sound knowledge of SIRE 2.0 requirements.
Organises and contributes in the accurate preparation of vetting inspections according to procedures and standards and reviews that all relevant documentation is timely prepared and forwarded for approval, in order to enable the execution of the inspection.
Liaises with all relevant parties for the development of vetting inspection plans and coordinates with the Inspection Bodies that are responsible for conducting the inspections for their travelling arrangements.
Has a core function to verify at an early stage of preparation of any planned SIRE / Non-SIRE / CDI inspections, for any needs of spares or any other essential equipment and ensure that the same is resolved. Escalate any noncompliance/s to the Fleet Manager Vetting.
Identify areas for improvement using an approach of Equipment/Procedure/Human Factor and verify the implementation of any past/ proposed corrective and preventive actions in coordination with Fleet Manager Vetting.
Monitor, collate, analyze key performance indicators that reflect company’s performance on vetting (SIRE, CDI, non-SIRE and terminal) matters.
Assist with post incident management and close-out of any incidents with relevant parties to ensure minimum commercial disruption as required by the Fleet Manager Vetting.
Attend vessels as required by the Fleet manager Vetting.
Prepare training materials in co-ordination with the Learning & Development team to disseminate and train our seafarers particularly with regards to SIRE 2.0 requirements.
Framing and executing Vetting bulletins and alerts on board vessels and in the office.
