Title and Summary
Vice President, Senior Managing Counsel, Litigation Europe
Overview
Mastercard is seeking a highly motivated and experienced lawyer to manage complex, multi-million dollar antitrust and commercial litigation in the UK and multiple European countries. Based in London, and becoming a member of our global litigation team, you will play a critical role in shaping Mastercard’s litigation and defense strategies, working closely with business and internal/external legal teams.

Role

  • Thoughtful and strategic management of complex antitrust and commercial litigation (including class actions) in the UK, the EEA and some additional jurisdictions
  • Design and execute pan-jurisdictional strategies to manage existing and emerging litigation risks
  • Partner with global business, communications and legal colleagues on litigation issues
  • Represent the litigation team in cross functional discussions on a variety issues that could raise litigation risk, providing clear and concise advice
  • Effective supervision and direction of outside counsel and external experts on multiple matters

All about you

  • 8+ years post-qualification litigation experience
  • Experience managing complex antitrust and commercial litigation cases in the UK and across multiple EEA jurisdictions
  • Class action experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in particular an ability to explain complex and nuanced legal arguments and strategies to global stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong analytical skills and the ability to provide solution and action-oriented advice
