The VP, Canada Divisional Controller will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the accounting operations in for the Canada wholesale and specialty operations. Function as a liaison, supporting operations in key projects and initiatives to ensure that strong accounting practices support the growth of HUB’s operations in Canada. This role will direct to the Senior Vice President, Global Controller and will be integral to expanding on a best-in-class accounting organization at HUB.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA designation.
- 5+ years leading at senior-level accounting and/or controller level in a large organization, with preference of public company experience.
- Experience with ERP system implementation at a driver or decision maker level.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects both in a group and independently.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS accounting.
- Experience leading a team and motivating staff and manager level employees.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Industry experience is ideal.

The expected salary range for this position is $170k to $200k, plus bonus and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level. Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the Canada wholesale and specialty program accounting teams.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment where people are recognized for their contributions and see the opportunities open to them at HUB.
System and Process Transformation:
- Partnering with peer leaders, lead initiatives to improve and streamline accounting processes and controls.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Advocate and support technology improvement that will create efficiencies and transparency across the organization.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to Hub, IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and US GAAP accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, operations, and external parties.
- Function as a liaison between the accounting department and other departments within the HUB accounting organization.
