The Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and
Mathematics invites applications for a
W3 – University Professorship (f/m/d)
for Communications Engineering
to be filled as soon as possible. We are looking for an outstandingly qualified person with a proven scientific track record and relevant peer-
reviewed publications, who can comprehensively represent the field of communications engineering in research and teaching. Exemplary

research topics are:

  • Signal processing and machine learning methods for wired, wireless and optical communication with a focus on the physical layer, e.g.

modulation, synchronization, equalization, error correction

  • Radio-based and optical sensor systems (radar, lidar)
  • Radio-based positioning and navigation methods

Experience in a relevant management position is desired, whereby professional experience in industry and successful acquisition of third-
party funded projects are advantageous. An important criterion is a good fit with existing and future research activities at Paderborn
University, particularly in its profile areas.
In addition, the ability and willingness to offer courses in German and English for the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs of the Institute
of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and to participate in academic self-administration are required.
Hiring requirements: § 36 Abs. 1 Ziff. 1 – 4 HG NRW – University law of the State of NRW (completed university degree, pedagogical aptitude,
PhD degree and additional research achievements).
