Our Ideal Candidate … CBoC is seeking a Web Content Specialist for the Digital team to help support publishing and quality checking for reports on the CBoC website. The successful candidate must have experience in WordPress and PowerBi. Working with our Economic Forecasting team the candidate will assist with posting our economics reports, quality checking our economic online experiences, and creating accessible PowerBi templates (for screen readers).
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of data visualization, web accessibility standards and posting on WordPress. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated experience working in cross functional teams to bring ideas to life.
We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office in Canada. To be successful as a remote worker you need to have a self-starter attitude, possess strong organizational and time management skills and be a proactive communicator. Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working/business hours is a requirement of this role.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, WordPress, jQuery, and CSS.
  • Experience designing and developing data intensive dashboards.
  • Understanding of data visualization concepts and experience in creating and editing charts and graphs
  • Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications in a collaborative multi-teamed environment.
  • Proficient knowledge in UX best practices for websites, in particular for mobile experience.

Responsibilities:

SOME OF THE THINGS YOU WILL DO EVERY DAY:

  • Work on multiple web projects, collaborating with both internal developers, designers, and content creators in support of the Web Program.
  • Ability to action detailed quality check
  • Work on complex organization projects involving advanced technologies and integrations, alongside the core website and e-commerce presence.
  • Design and implement large scale accessible PowerBi dashboards, in preparation for publishing on the Web, including knowledge of related accessibility and AODA requirements.
  • Assist in improving the economic reports patterns. Assist Economics Forecasting team to upload content to the website.
  • Ensure the group follows brand standards on WordPress.
  • Explore data visualization applications and help drive ideation on new web-based products.
