The responsibilities of a Community Support Worker include, but are not limited to, providing companionship, assisting with personal care such as grooming, dressing, personal hygiene, toileting, and feeding, and managing household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping. They ensure living conditions are maintained to keep a hygienic and healthy environment, manage medication, and provide any other necessary support.
In some cases, Community Support Workers may advocate on behalf of the individuals served to ensure they understand their rights regarding legal or financial issues. Your role also includes monitoring the progress of the individuals by observing their daily activities, filing reports to a supervisor or managers, daily charting to properly track medications and behaviors, and conducting evaluations of program effectiveness to recommend improvements.
It is important for support workers to understand that each individual served has specific needs based on their unique situation.
All Pandora staff receive adequate training tailored to the individual and are encouraged to apply their skills to the personalized care plan.
