Description General Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative VDC Specialist to join our mechanical team. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong BIM expertise and a passion for leveraging technology to improve design, coordination, and fabrication processes. The VDC Specialist will be responsible for model creation, automation, scripting, and supporting project teams with software-related needs. Principal Accountabilities: Develop and manage detailed mechanical models using Revit, CADmep, and Navisworks. Set up Revit models with appropriate templates, families, and project standards. Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks Manage. Create and maintain CADmep scripts to support fabrication workflows. Automate modeling tasks and enhance data integration using Dynamo. Develop custom BIM tools and scripts using C# and Python. Provide technical support to project teams regarding BIM software and workflows. Collaborate with design, coordination, and field teams to ensure model accuracy and constructability. Generate fabrication-ready shop drawings, spool sheets, and BOMs. Participate in coordination meetings with general contractors and other trades. Maintain documentation and version control of models and scripts. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Experience: At least 5 years of related or progressive experience in VDC/BIM within the mechanical or MEP trades Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field preferred Technical Skills: Experience with BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or other fabrication tools. Advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks Manage, and CADmep. Description of physical working environment: Primarily office-based, with occasional travel to field locations or corporate meetings.
