Duties & Responsibilities Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu, while utilizing standardized recipes to do so. Ensure that food prepared is of proper quantity and in accordance with established time schedules. Utilize correct portion control utensils during the preparation and duration of food service in order to ensure that the proper quantity of food is prepared. Check and maintain proper food temperatures during food preparation and services, making sure to record those temperatures according to the established policy. Ensure that an adequate supply of food, supplies, etc. are available at all times; reporting inadequate stock levels to the supervisor in a timely manner. Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant school and licensed in New York State as a PTA in good standing. Previous skilled nursing facility experience is highly preferred, along with the ability to work well under pressure and a sincere desire to work with the elderly and chronically ill.
