KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Prepares patients and assembles and operates hemodynamic equipment during interventional cardiac procedures for diagnosis of heart disease. Assists physician in performing invasive procedures and performs related radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging such as administering contrast to demonstrate catheter location and position, and documents results. Monitors and alerts team of life threatening changes in patient status and responds with assistance during emergency procedures (including CPR and defibrillator when required). Assists with diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures as a scrub assistant with competent knowledge of equipment and supply options. Enters patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documents billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges. Processes images as directed and accurately identifies and labels images, identifying patient name, medical record, and location/position of scans.
