EMSL is currently seeking a Full Time Laboratory Analyst (Metals) in Carle Place, NY. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related science is required
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
0 to 1 years’ experience working in a lab setting with FLAA and/or ICP is a plus but not required
Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude
Effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistance
Preparation and digestion of environmental lead samples: paint, soil, wipes and cassettes by Flame AA
Preparation and analysis of samples using ICP
Laboratory work environment requires care when handling acids, solvents, and other reagents
Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system
Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
Administrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phones
Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager
