We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Assistant with experience in commercial lending and real estate law to join a highly regarded Canadian law firm. About The Opportunity
This role is ideal for a Legal Assistant who thrives in a structured, high-performing legal environment and has a genuine interest in commercial real estate and secured lending. Supporting one lawyer, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience and enjoy the opportunity to work closely with your legal team. Unlike multi-lawyer support roles, this structure allows for deeper collaboration and a clearer focus in your day-to-day work. You’ll also be supported by an additional Legal Assistant and have access to cutting-edge legal tools and systems.
About The Position
In this full-time, onsite position, you’ll provide legal administrative support focused on commercial lending and real estate transactions. Your responsibilities will include preparing legal documents, conducting due diligence, managing electronic and physical files, and coordinating with internal departments and clients. You will work closely with a single legal professional, allowing for deeper collaboration and skill development while contributing to the efficient and professional operation of the legal team.

The Requirements

  • Legal Assistant or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a legal assistant role preferably focused on corporate commercial law, real estate, or secured lending
  • Strong understanding of BC Land Title Office registration processes and e-filing
  • Experience drafting legal documents for real estate and lending transactions
  • Familiarity with BC Online, LTSA, and municipal property databases
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Adobe

Compensation

  • Salary: $50,000–$75,000, depending on experience
