INTRODUCTION
The Wisconsin Court System is seeking a Judicial Education Specialist with experience in legal support, continuing education, public administration, or event coordination. The Judicial Education Specialist is responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of statewide judicial education programs, including coordinating faculty, managing program schedules, and arranging related logistics. This position has overall responsibility for serving as a liaison between event faculty, participants, vendors, and staff. The Judicial Education Specialist contributes to long-term program planning in collaboration with other Judicial Education staff, manages education credit tracking and compliance under Supreme Court Rule, and provides cross-functional administrative support.
Individuals who have prior coursework or experience in event management or public administration are encouraged to apply. Candidates must be detail and organization oriented and have a commitment to providing high-quality services to the Wisconsin Court System.
POSITION SUMMARY
LOCATION: Madison, WI
SALARY: Starting salary will be $51,035 - $61,752 annually, with a State of Wisconsin benefits package.
QUALIFICATIONS
1) High school diploma or equivalent. 2) At least one year of professional experience in event coordination, office administration, or similar role. 3) Good knowledge of event management, public administration, hospitality or legal support services. 4) Good knowledge of best practices in records management or compliance tracking. 5) Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and shared drives/cloud storage. 6) Strong interpersonal skills and comfort representing the office professionally in person, online, and by phone. 7) Strong written and verbal communication skills. 8) Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities independently. 9) Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Working knowledge of the Wisconsin judicial system and/or continuing education environments. 2) Coursework or experience in event management, public administration, hospitality, or judicial/legal services. 3) Experience coordinating logistics for trainings, events, or conferences. 4) Experience maintaining records or tracking compliance with requirements.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1) Employment will require a criminal background check. 2) Must meet the minimum standards for driving a state vehicle and be willing to travel in-state for events. 3) Must be able to travel throughout the State of Wisconsin around once per month with typically 3-4 overnights per event. 4) The Wisconsin Court System does not sponsor work visas. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.
