The
Department of County Management
(DCM) Business Services Program is recruiting for a Contract Specialist Senior. DCM Business Services provides a full spectrum of business services to support the DCM divisions and programs, including the Director’s Office, Budget Office, Central Finance & Risk Management, Central Human Resources, and Assessment, Recording & Taxation.
The Contract Specialist Senior position performs complex procurement and contracting activities within the countywide framework established by Central Purchasing that adheres to regulatory guidelines, fair and transparent practices and best value standards, while maintaining uninterrupted flow of materials and services to support the Department’s programs and operations.
As our next Contract Specialist Senior you will perform the following:
Contract Development and Oversight
Plan and Perform Procurement (sourcing) Activities
Coordinate and oversee the work of programs, agencies and partners in the development of sourcing events for countywide initiatives and strategies.
Perform Contracts Administration Activities
In collaboration with DCM program staff, perform contract administration and performance management functions during the life cycle of the contract performance period.

This recruitment may be used to fill full-time, part-time, temporary, limited duration and on-call positions.
Type of Position: This hourly union-represented position is eligible for overtime.
Onsite Work Location: Multnomah Building, 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland, OR 97214
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. There is some flexibility with the start and end times and a possibility of a 9/80 schedule.
Routine Telework: After initial training, this position qualifies for “routine telework,” meaning you will be working remotely (from home); a hybrid schedule also is available. As with all routine telework positions, employees may be required to come into the office on occasion. The designation of Routine Telework may be subject to change at a future time. All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations.

However, actual compensation will be determined in accordance with the Oregon Equal Pay Law and will take into account factors such as the candidate’s relevant experience, education seniority, training, and/or tenure. Serving the Public, Even During Disasters
Everyday, Multnomah County staff work together to serve as a safety net for our communities. During a disaster, this safety net becomes even more critical. All County employees have a role in serving the public during inclement weather, natural disaster, or other types of community emergency response. During these emergency responses, while typically there begins with a call for volunteers, county employees may ultimately be reassigned from their current position to a role in the emergency response in order to support the critical needs presented by our communities.
