This role provides leadership and support to staff, oversees program operations and service delivery, builds collaborative partnerships, and promotes continuous program development to meet the evolving needs of youth and the community. “We stand with our clients, side by side, patiently and for as long as they want – a constant and consistent caring force” Position Responsibilities * Champion the delivery of inclusive, affirming, and culturally responsive services that meet the unique needs of LGBTQIA2S+ youth, ensuring staff provide trauma-informed, harm reduction, and client-centred support. * Provide strategic direction and leadership while ensuring alignment with BSCS’s mission, vision, values, and commitment to culturally responsive, client-centred care. * Lead, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team through regular supervision, coaching, and performance development to foster employee growth, engagement, and success. * Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community partners, Indigenous organizations, funders, and other key stakeholders, including regular liaison with internal operations and external funders, to support effective program delivery, reporting, and community impact. * Manage and coordinate referrals, intakes, and caseloads within the CHEW program, ensuring timely and equitable access to services. * Facilitate and maintain standardized intake processes, documentation, file management, and confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies and legislative requirements. * Support youth in accessing culturally meaningful services by facilitating access to Indigenous cultural teachings, ceremonies, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and other traditional supports. * Coordinate and oversee daily site operations, ensuring the program operates efficiently and effectively while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment. * Develop and manage staff schedules, approve and review employee timecards, and ensure accurate payroll submissions and staffing coverage. * Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, mentorship, and retention of program staff, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture. * Coordinate and go out with Boyle Street outreach programs and services to connect with youth who may want to access CHEW. * Provide leadership in the supervision, orientation, and ongoing support of practicum students and volunteers, creating meaningful learning opportunities while ensuring quality service delivery. * Address escalated client, staff, and operational concerns, collaborating with all levels of the organization to develop effective and timely solutions. * Communicate emerging trends, opportunities, challenges, and best practices with program leadership, front-line staff, and organizational partners. * Foster strong collaborative relationships across all BSCS departments and programs to enhance service integration and organizational effectiveness. * Lead and support the implementation of program and organizational changes, working closely with Employee Supports, Operations, and other departments to ensure effective change management practices. * Assist with the development and coordination of program communications, including social media initiatives, community engagement, and promotion of CHEW services and events. * Support the Director by acting in their role during periods of absence, as required. * All staff at BSCS are expected to participate in occasional outreach and emergency response efforts (e.g., winter response) to support and engage with clients. * BSCS is more than a workplace. It is a community where everyone helps and contributes to the whole, and there is an expectation that all employees will take part in events (during the work week and occasionally during weekends and evenings). This includes fundraising campaigns, running community meals, medicine picking etc. Qualifications * Degree or diploma in social services or a related field. Candidates without a degree but with extensive relevant experience will also be considered.  * Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role. Equivalent experience will be considered.  * Valid First Aid Certificate or enrollment in an upcoming First Aid course.  * Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening completed within the past six months and maintained as required (every three years).  * Child Intervention Record Check completed within the past six months and maintained as required (every three years).  * Experience working with and knowledge of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and ceremonies is considered an asset.  * Experience working with and supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and communities is considered an asset.
