About The Role: This is a fixed-term contract with the expected end date of August 1st 2025.
To support the Group Manager, by playing a critical role by analyzing and reporting accounting data related to inventory and margin in Giant Tiger Stores and Warehouses.
Workplace Arrangements:
This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road 2-5 times a month for an 8-5 schedule.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Produce and analyze on a yearly basis inventory reports and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure the proper action plans are in place to clear slow/aging inventory.
• Supporting, providing feedback and validating Quality Assurance test cases on behalf of the IS Team on new system or system enhancements impacting Inventory to ensure end results align with business expectations.
• Perform root cause analysis on inventory reports (i.e. Stock Ledger, General Ledger, Shrink and Damages)
• Prepare and distribute GTW Margin Performance Metric reports for Grocery, Hardgoods, and Softgoods along with commentary on Financial results and other Accounting entries impacting GTW margins.
• Investigate and correct erroneous inventory adjustment causing material impact to Stores & Distribution Centers P&L, POS Margins and advising on best business practices.
• Produce and distribute various month end financial reports for internal stakeholders (i.e. General Ledger Team, Operation’s Team and Store Team).
• Assist the Inventory Manager in variance analysis relating to Distribution Centers Gross Margin dollars and Year-end Audit support.

What You’ll Bring:

• University degree in Accounting/Business
• 3+ years of inventory management or general accounting experience
• Experience in Microsoft Access an asset
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills including advanced Excel skills
• Ability to work independently and part of a team
• Experience developing relationships with departments outside Finance
• Ability to speak/read/ write French is an asset
• Enrolled in CPA Program
• Experience working in a large organization with many locations
• Excellent time management and organization skills
