At Knights Brown, we are committed to integrating environmental and sustainability benefits into the delivery of our projects. As part of our climate action strategy, Goal 13, we’re looking for a confident and capable Environmental & Sustainability Coordinator to help take our sustainability efforts to the next level.
This is a hands-on role for someone who’s ready to lead, influence, and embed sustainability across our division. You’ll be joining a team that’s already making progress through initiatives like SmartWaste, Thrive and our anti-idling campaign but we’re looking for someone who can build on that foundation, bring fresh ideas, and drive continuous improvement.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion for sustainability, but also the confidence and resilience to make it happen in a practical, fast-paced construction environment.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
A degree in Environmental Sciences, Geology, Ecology, or a related field.
Proven experience in a sustainability or environmental role, ideally within the construction sector.
Strong understanding of environmental legislation and best practice.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Lead the implementation of Goal 13 across all projects, developing a clear structure and management plan that becomes standard practice.
Get involved early in each project to engage teams, identify opportunities, and embed sustainability from the outset.
Monitor and support delivery throughout the project lifecycle, collecting data, providing feedback, and driving improvement.
Support existing initiatives such as SmartWaste, Thrive, anti-idling, and carbon reduction plans, while also introducing new ideas and approaches to keep us ahead of the curve.
Carry out regular audits and assessments to track progress and promote accountability.
Provide guidance and mentorship to site teams to improve sustainability performance and reporting, supporting our role out of company-wide and divisional initiatives.
Work closely with site teams and supply chain partners to deliver bespoke carbon reduction plans and improve environmental performance.
Support the Work Winning Team with expert input into tenders and PQQs, including case studies demonstrating sustainability achievements and social value impacts.
Collaborate with the social value team to support divisional reporting and performance tracking.
Play an active role in leading our divisional and supporting our business-wide climate action groups, contributing ideas and influencing strategy.
