The Role Join our Building Engineering Services Business Group at HDR as Project Finance Assistant & Team Administrator on a parental leave contract. Based in Sydney, this position is perfect for someone looking to start their career. You'll support the full financial lifecycle of projects and assist with administrative tasks across various business functions to help keep operations running smoothly. Reporting to the Project Accountant, you will work with a team delivering projects throughout Australia and Singapore, giving you exposure at a global level. In the role of Project Finance Assistant & Team Administrator, we’ll count on you to: Support the project lifecycle from setup to closure Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and payment processing Assist with project budgeting, invoicing and monthly status reports Monitor accounts receivable and follow up outstanding debtors Ensure all financial activities align with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Timesheet administration – ensure timesheets are submitted and approved according to deadlines. Support the Project Accountant as required Provide administrative support to business groups, project teams or others, as required Qualifications & Experience Previous experience providing financial management support (accounts payable/receivable) is advantageous but not essential You will be confident in the use of Microsoft Office Programs, with a high level of computer literacy. Intermediate level of Microsoft Excel Skills. Strong data-entry and record keeping ability, with high levels of attention to detail Ability to work under pressure in a team environment Client service approach and ability to partner with our project teams. Willingness to learn and a solutions-focused attitude. Self-motivated, well organised and detail oriented with the flexibility and ability to prioritise, adjust to changes, and handle multiple tasks all at once Ability to meet deadlines.
