Your Opportunity:
This position Unit Clerk - OR Scheduler is responsible for providing administrative support to Operating & Endoscopy Programs at the Viking Health Centre. You are expected to ensure the effective and efficient management of a wide scope of responsibilities and activities such as, collecting, preparing, collating, tracking, and editing a variety of data, including liaison with internal and external stakeholders for missing or incomplete information, and timely follow up. Organizing, prioritizing, and responding to specific requests for information to support the manager/leader, programs and activities. Providing discreet and confidential support to the manager related to patient, staff, and program issues. You will be expected to provide administrative support to the acute care/site manager and staff while fostering collaboration and teamwork among peers and colleagues locally and zone wide. The incumbent is required to provide a high standard of interpersonal communication skills and must demonstrate confidentiality, flexibility, and initiative while meeting the needs of other team members. Incumbent uses extensive independent judgment in interpreting guidelines to meet objectives and deliver solutions. Your key responsibilities can include coordinating schedules and resources, preparing business documents, related to scheduling and communicating patient procedures and appointments.
Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.
