Enigmatic Smile is a growing technology company operating in the rewards and loyalty sector. We’re looking for a skilled Bookkeeper with 3–4 years’ experience using Xero to join our team and help maintain accurate financial records as we scale.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3–4 years’ professional bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Xero (essential).
  • Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Experience with employee expense management platforms (e.g., Payhawk, Pleo, Expensify).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, able to work independently, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience in startups, scale-ups, or fintech.
  • Exposure to multi-currency transactions.
  • Knowledge of crypto and blockchain-based accounting.
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As our Bookkeeper, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our financial processes run smoothly. You will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, support financial reporting, and work closely with senior management to provide accurate and timely data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain accurate records in Xero, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and support other tax compliance.
  • Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Manage expense claims, payroll journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Oversee employee expense management platforms (e.g., Payhawk) and ensure proper integration with Xero.
  • Support budgeting and cash flow monitoring.
  • Liaise with the wider team to provide financial insights.
