We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Data Asset Engineer.
We are HSBC’s Cybersecurity Science & Analytics (CSA) team. We use our award-winning advanced analytics platform to develop innovative products for securing one of the largest technology estates in the world. CSA is a unique and multi-skilled team of cybersecurity scientists, data and analytics professionals, and engineers. Our mission is to harness the power of data, analytics, AI/ML, and cybersecurity science to innovate and advance HSBC’s cybersecurity capabilities.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

• Develop data models that meet the reporting and analytical needs of the cyber team.
• Design and implement high-quality, scalable data models that ensure the integrity, security, and accessibility of Cybersecurity Data Assets.
• Collaborate with analytics/BI engineers to ensure these models are used effectively.
• Work alongside Cybersecurity colleagues to understand their needs and shape data assets that address their requirements.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU SHOULD MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in data architecture, modelling, and database design, including star & snowflake schemas.
• In-depth understanding of ETL processes, and data warehouse architectures
• Hands-on experience working with multi-terabyte data sets, optimizing for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Experience with Databricks notebooks, Unity Catalog, and building scalable data pipelines using PySpark/Spark, SQL is preferred.
• Broad knowledge of cybersecurity principles and disciplines.
  This role is based in Birmingham OR Sheffield.
