The Respiratory Physiology service has an opportunity to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic individual to the role of Senior Clinical Physiologist for a 12-month fixed term maternity cover post. You will join a busy, friendly, multidisciplinary team including physiologists, clinical scientists, administrators and consultants.
The post is primarily based at the Sleep Centre in Charing Cross Hospital, where they will undertake a wide range of diagnostic tests and treatments including CPAP provision and support, respiratory polygraphy sleep studies, PSG/MSLT and NIV set-up and monitoring. As part of the cross-site rota, there will also be the opportunity to work in lung function departments within the Trust.
Away from clinical testing, we host students from the PTP and STP courses so there will be an opportunity to be involved in teaching, training and supervision of junior staff. The postholder will be required to deputise for the Chief Clinical Physiologist in their absence and to take proactive steps to contribute to the wider development of the service.
It is essential for the successful applicant to have had previous experience in either sleep physiology or lung function testing. It would be preferable if you have obtained the ARTP practitioners examination and are working towards RCCP registration or AHCS equivalence.
To provide Lung Function tests, and Sleep diagnostic and treatment interventions independently, working across the 3 Trust sites.
The work of the postholder must be reliable, accurate and to a high professional standard. The information obtained is used to assign the diagnosis of disease and to identify treatment regimes.
The postholder is also responsible for the maintenance and calibration of all equipment including therapeutic/diagnostic equipment issued for use in the patients’ home.
At Imperial College Healthcare you can achieve extraordinary things with extraordinary people, working with leading clinicians pushing boundaries in patient care.
