The Airborne Radar Design Department is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Subsystem & Power Products Engineering section in El Segundo, CA. The person in this position will be involved in electronics packaging design for Airborne Radar Subsystems including AESA Antenna, Receiver, Exciter, Processor and Power Supply subsystems. Tasks will include mechanical engineering support throughout the hardware life cycle, including concept development, preliminary and detail design, familiarity with precision machining techniques, transition to production, production support and installation. Typical technologies include electronic enclosures, thermal heat exchangers (coldwalls), machined components, RF microwave assemblies, and power converter units, all with challenging design constraints including Size, Weight, Power, and design to Cost. The initial assignment will likely focus on the engineering Production Support of an airborne military radar. What You Will Do The candidate will provide technical support on major programs and interface with Lead Mechanical Engineers and Chief Engineers to support design objectives. The candidate will frequently lead small teams through design development and will be expected to ensure that the established procedures are followed in the creation of technical data packages while meeting all program design objectives. Provide support to suppliers who are fabricating components and assemblies. This position requires strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to maintain positive relationships & satisfaction with leadership (Engineering and Program Management). Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or a minimum of 3+ years’ prior relevant experience Experience with CREO or similar 3D solid modeling software.
