The Technical Specialist is responsible for overseeing the legal compliance of the self-insured workers' compensation program. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, analysing data, and developing case managers. Responsibilities and duties Claims Management: Oversee the processing and management of workers' compensation claims in accordance with the law and the principles of administrative justice and sound and proper decision making. Decision Making: Utilise analytical skills and industry knowledge to make sound and proper liability decisions and manage the appeals process. Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Data Analysis: Analyse claims data and trends to identify areas for improvement. Prepare reports for management on key metrics. Procedure Development: Develop and implement procedures related to evidence gathering, assessment and decision making, promoting best practices in claims handling. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on technical matters relating to claims. Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to staff on workers' compensation processes, regulations, and practices.
