POSITION DETAILS:
The Recreation Coordinator will work under the guidance of the Director and the Management Team to provide support to mentors and team members, and to help, motivate, and enable participants to engage and learn in programs and activities based on their individual needs, goals, and choices, both at the centre and in the broader community.

· Identify and analyse barriers to inclusion and engagement for individuals with disability within the local community, to reduce exclusion and enhance participation.
· Evaluate new resources and programs to ensure alignment with individual participants’ needs, goals, and learning objectives; support mentors and team members in effective program implementation within daily activities.
· Collaborate with allied health professionals and external agencies to prepare progress reports and letters of support for NDIS funding applications, ensuring participants maintain access to essential services and programs.
· Research and promote community engagement opportunities, including local and regional cultural, recreational, and artistic events that foster participant inclusion, mental well-being, and social interaction.
· Source and assess opportunities in community-based activities, volunteer work, employment training, and life skills development to support participant empowerment, independence, and personal growth.
