We are looking for a highly motivated Product Owner to join our Products & Technology team in Toronto. You will be part of growing a product development team to deliver new and evolve existing products and services for OMERS Pensions.
Our team focuses on leveraging the newest technologies and approaches to deliver solutions & systems for the modern-day end user. Our primary focus and commitment is to provide real value and we encourage innovation and empower open-thinking for all our team members. AS A MEMBER OF THIS TEAM, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Owning and evolving our pension products
Understanding the business opportunities, user needs and technology landscape to define the product vision
Constructing and maintaining a clear product roadmap
Planning and prioritizing product backlogs, writing and prioritizing user stories, epics, and features, to ensure work is focused on delivering maximum value
Engaging with business stakeholders and providing direction and vision to our agile delivery squads on product strategy
Following progress of work and addressing issues during sprints
Working cross-functionally to plan business readiness and change management activities
Developing and communicating product release plans and setting expectations for the delivery of new functionality
Working closely with technical leads to guide the way for our development squads
Keeping up to date on agile best practices
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, YOU HAVE:
Previous working experience as a Product Owner (or equivalent experience)
Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
The ability to juggle multiple stakeholder groups/requests at a time and prioritize them accordingly
A hands-on approach to assist both your direct team and the broader Pensions group
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Great attention to detail
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
A technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies is an asset
Experience with SQL would be an asset
