Junior IR Manager vacancy(Brackenfell, Cape Town):
The IR Manager will responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing policies and procedures to ensure effective labour relations, compliance with employment laws, and the maintenance of a productive and harmonious working environment. The role involves negotiating with trade unions, managing grievances and disputes, CCMA representation, and ensuring alignment between company goals and employee relations practices.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the IR Manager will include, but not limited to:
Develop and implement industrial relations strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Serve as the primary liaison between management, employees, clients and/or unions if applicable.
Handle employee grievances and disciplinary matters in a fair and timely manner.
Internal guidance on disciplinary procedures and ensuring executions aligned with company code of conduct and applicable legislations.
Chair of disciplinary hearings.
Advise management on labour law compliance and industrial relations issues.
Represent the company in labour disputes, hearings, CCMA matters, and external negotiations.
Monitor and analyze labour trends, employment legislation, and industrial action risks.
Train and guide line managers and HR staff on labour legislation, employee relations practices, and conflict resolution.
Maintain up-to-date records of all industrial relations matters, including disputes, disciplinary action, and negotiations.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages open communication and trust between all parties.
Qualifications:
Any tertiary qualifications in HR / IR beneficial
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in labour/industrial relations, preferably in a unionized environment.
In-depth knowledge of labour legislation, dispute resolution processes, and collective bargaining frameworks.
Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in managing union relationships and representing companies at the CCMA.
Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive and complex workplace issues.

Pay: R28,00 - R33,00 per hour
