OVERVIEW
Our client, a national manufacturer located in Northern NJ, seeks a highly motivated and dynamic Plant Manager. Candidate must be a strong, proactive, hands-on, team player with experience working in a fast-paced high-pressure manufacturing environment.
The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall direction, guidance and safety of the manufacturing operations. This includes organizing and directing all departmental related activities on all shifts, including providing leadership, direction and facilitation of production line teams, maintenance, quality and materials.
The successful candidate must always meet daily production requirements while continuously gaining improvements in both productivity and quality. This is a hands-on position which will require you to manage a supervisory team, direct operations and troubleshoot problems. Most of your time will be on the shop floor. You must be able to multi-task and possess the computer skills necessary to manage systems, effect change and measure productivity. The plant runs 5/16 with occasional weekend work. Your primary responsibilities are as follows:
· Provide direction to shop floor supervisors
· Oversee facilities, production, housekeeping and safety.
· Maintains a key focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
· Schedules personnel for optimal efficiency.
· Manages and executes improvement projects that support overall production process improvement in the plant and other variable cost savings opportunities.
Experience:
· Minimum 10 years’ experience in manufacturing/production. Experience with liquid manufacturing and packaging highly preferred.
· Minimum 5 years plant management experience in a production and/or manufacturing environment, including direct supervision of hourly and salaried employees
· Strong mechanical aptitude
· Proven team leadership skills
