BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent in the field of business, computers, information systems or related degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in program or project management.
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role preferably in the Telematics, Telecommunications, or automotive industry.
  • Strong technical background with experience managing programs in software development, cloud, IoT or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and the ability to manage technical programs in complex environments.
  • Proven experience leading and managing large-scale, cross functional technical programs from inception to completion.
  • Deep knowledge of program management methodologies (e.g Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g. JIRA, confluence, MS Project)
  • Ability to work effectively without direct supervision (i.e., the ability to take high-level direction and proactively move a project or internal initiative from start to finish with minimal assistance).
  • Customer facing skills at all levels of a partner organization and a strong passion for helping customers plan and build on our technology
  • Ability to interpret difficult instructions, derive valid conclusions, and recommend reasonable courses of actions within the scope of the position.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager for our Technical Program Management (TPM) group to lead and mentor a team of technical program and project managers for driving the execution of complex technical programs. The candidate should have a strong technical background combined with outstanding leadership and project management skills. They will oversee project execution, cross functional collaboration, and ensure the timely delivery of key initiatives. The role involves managing multiple complex projects in terms of overall project management, governance, financial tracking and analysis, partner contracting and management, application of standard project management processes and artifacts, risk management, process and methodology development and improvement. They will be responsible for keeping each project in scope and manage the negotiation and contracting for scope changes. They will also be responsible for project management documentation and following an established standardized methodology.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead, Mentor and Manage a team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs) responsible for driving the execution of large scale, cross-functional technical programs.
  • Define, Implement and oversee program management frameworks and processes to ensure seamless execution of programs.
  • Manage the end-to-end program lifecycle, including planning, execution, tracking, and post-launch evaluation.
  • Ensure programs are delivered within scope, budget and time constraints while maintaining high quality and technical excellence.
  • Balance the strategic and tactical aspects helping team prioritize and handle trade-off between competing goals.
  • Partner closely with product management, IT, engineering and other departments to ensure alignment for program delivery.
  • Facilitate collaboration between teams to resolve dependencies, remove roadblocks, and align on shared goals and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders ensuring programs align with broader business objectives.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership, including program health, progress against milestones, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Identify, assess and manage risks associated with program execution ensuring continency plans are in place to mitigate potential issues.
  • Continuously improve program management processes, tools and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of program execution.
  • Drive the adoption of agile, scrum and other methodologies across technical program management function.
  • Ensure team is equipped to understand the technical aspects of the programs they are managing and can communicate requirements clearly.
  • Functions as a key advocate and single point of contact for connectivity service-related product inquiries and requests from HMG affiliate companies, client business units and external partners.
  • Develop and coach TPMs, ensuring they have tools and resources needed to successfully deliver complex programs on time and within scope.
  • Coordinate with all internal departments for new product development proposal creation.
