In this exciting role as a Senior Quality Engineer supporting the Cardiac Ablation Solutions organization, you will have responsibility for supporting the inspection and test plan used by the lab technicians executing product analysis of returned product. The Engineer will be capable of working on complaint investigations with limited supervision. He or she will exhibit an ability to interact with co-workers in a way that facilitates sharing of information and timely resolution to complaint investigations. The Engineer shall be capable of interfacing with various manufacturing sites and facilitate the transfer of information in a timely manner.
The Cardiac Ablations Solutions Unit develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes.
This position is in Rice Creek, MN within the Cardiac Ablation Solutions Operating Unit and requires 3 days on-site per week.

A Day in the Life

In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Senior Quality Engineer role. This includes, but is not limited to the following:

  • Manage complaint investigations and lead root cause analysis on products returned from the field.
  • Determine the need for further investigations and document rationales when no further investigation is required.
  • Develop procedures/processes, tools, techniques to aid in the analysis of returned product.
  • Coordinate and link information from multiple sources/systems to investigate problems thoroughly.
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspection and testing of returned product.
  • Lead test method validation activities.
  • Apply and understand statistical methodologies, as appropriate.
  • Provide training to technicians.

Must Have - Minimum Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Engineering and or Quality, or an advanced degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline with 2+ years of relevant work experience in Engineering and or Quality.

Nice to Have

  • Medical device industry experience.
  • Familiarity with these regulations: FDA 21 CFR Part 820, EU 217/745 (EU MDR).
  • Familiarity with these standards: ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and Windows OS.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cooperatively as part of a cross-functional team.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$94,400.00 - $141,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
