MINIMUM QUALIFICATION/ KNOWLEDGE AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• A relevant Master’s-level degree (i.e. MTech / MSc / NQF 9 or equivalent).
• At least two years’ research/teaching/lecturing/industry experience relevant to the research field(s).
• Involvement in at least one community-related research project.
• Registered with an appropriate accredited professional body where applicable

DESIRED QUALIFICATION, KNOWLEDGE AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Additional qualifications in line with the specific field of research.
• Proven record of external funding applications, awards and management
• Proof of a national and international network in the academic environment and related industry
• Research project management experience.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To conduct appropriate research leading to publications and projects for postgraduate students and third-stream income

MAIN TASKS

• Lead and conduct research in the identified field
• Develop and manage a research focus area in the Faculty
• Supervision of post-graduate students
• Contribute toward a vibrant research environment in the Faculty
  Nature of appointment: 3-year fixed-term academic
  Minimum salary scale (Total Cost to Company): R 733 299 per annum
